Week 8: 11/03/2024
Hello, Alex here!
For this whole week my scope was focused around player replayability and player progression. I worked on the missions, how to select them and how to clear them which then prompts the player back to the guild. In addition I also worked on a new system that represents a player’s rank in the game. It is a progression system with stars that increases through each successful mission. On the contrary the more failed missions the lower the rank decreases so players have to look out. I was determined to efficiently implement these features to the best of my abilities given the time I had. Looking back I can say it was a bit of a fun week to work on.

Throughout this week I have been focusing on expanding the forest environment by creating additional assets. I have spent time researching different elements needed for the landscape and other forest props. My priority is to maintain consistency, and although it took a few attempts to achieve the desired outcome, I am determined to deliver the best results possible

For this week I focused on playable character animation. This one is particularly the most tedious aspect of my work. This is because I want to perfect the animation in a sense that every frame has to be perfect, that there’s zero inconsistencies and blank space.
On the days I’m not working on the animation, I’ve designed the final herb sprites we’ve added for more variety.
