Week 7: 04/03/2024



This week was a huge undertaking because the beta deadline submission was slowly coming up. Collectively, we decided to improve on the things we thought were lacking in comparison.

The enemy AI was a huge pain on our end to deal with due to the nature of our collective obsession to have more than just a simple enemy just running to attack you and repeating the same process. Through the use of Unreal Engine’s documentation and tools we managed to make a competent AI that can not only see, hear and sense the player but it also tries to circle around the player and make it that harder to get killed. This simple change meant a lot of things, and it shows its prowess the more enemies there are around the player.

The Levels were also adjusted and toned down in order to not have any issues with the beta submission. This meant that the enemies got a new way to get spawned, spawn over time and the way that the teleporters work for the player.
